Renovation works on 1C Rowell Road, #02-01, took us about three weeks, but Dibashram is now ready.
The works involved removal of the partition and false ceiling of the former tenants’ office to create a large unified space with the original high ceiling, installation of parquet flooring over the old timber floor, shoe racks along the entrance staircase for visitors to leave their footwear, painting, and small improvements to the kitchen and bathroom.
The old airconditioning system has been retained just so that it does not go to waste, but is expected to be used only rarely. Fans have been installed and Dibashram will operate with natural ventilation.
We kept the sofas and a bookcase left behind by the former tenants, and brought in used furniture including desks and office chairs, dining table and chairs, and additional sofas.
After a major clean-up and wipe-down, and with a new rug on the floor, Dibashram now feels just like home.

Congratulations! This is a very welcome initiative. It looks comfortable and welcoming.
